The short version: we barely collect anything.

1Who runs this

This site, hawktalk.ai, and the Hawktalk products are operated by Osprey, an individual (sole proprietor) based in the United States, doing business as Hawktalk. Hawktalk is not incorporated — there is no company, LLC, or corporate parent behind it at this time. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Hawktalk," it means Osprey personally.

Questions, requests, or anything about your data go to hawk@hawktalk.ai. A real person reads that inbox.

2What we actually collect

Here is the complete list — not a sample, the whole thing.

That's it. No name, no phone number, no company details, no location, no device fingerprint. We don't ask for them and the form doesn't capture them.

The founding-list form is handled by Formspree, which delivers your submission to us. If Formspree is unreachable when you submit, the page falls back to opening a plain email to hawk@hawktalk.ai so nothing is silently lost — and the page never falsely claims success. See section 5 for the third parties involved.

3Payments: Hawktalk never touches your card

The only thing Hawktalk's page ever learns about a payment is the confirmation ID PayPal returns — a subscriptionID for a plan, or an orderID for a Friend-of-Hawk contribution. That ID is shown back to you on-screen as your receipt. PayPal also emails you its own confirmation.

When you subscribe or contribute, PayPal becomes the party that collects and processes your payment information, under PayPal's own privacy policy. We encourage you to read it at paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full. Managing, updating, or removing your stored payment methods is done inside your PayPal account, not through Hawktalk.

4Your voice and on-device data

Hawktalk's core promise is architectural: the on-device assistant is designed to run on your phone's own silicon. Reasoning and speech run on the device today — the brain reasons and the on-device voice speaks, with no cloud in that loop.

Speech-to-text is the one stage still moving on-device: it's in progress, so today, depending on your tier, transcription may run up the blade (server-side) rather than fully on the phone. We won't pretend all three stages are already local — fully-on-device voice, "your voice never leaves the phone," is the architecture we're building toward, and we'd rather say that plainly than overclaim.

Where a stage runs on-device, there is no Hawktalk server sitting in that audio path, so there is no recording of that stage for us to keep, analyze, or hand over. As on-device speech-to-text lands, more of the pipeline moves entirely onto your hardware. This website's forms and checkout do not send us any voice data at all.

The developer Voice API is a separate product. If you build on the API, the data your own application sends through it is governed by the plan you subscribe to and any separate agreement we make with you directly.

5The only third parties involved

This page loads scripts and sends data to exactly two outside services, and no others:

• PayPal — loaded so you can subscribe or contribute. PayPal handles all payment data and may set its own cookies as part of its checkout, under its own policy.
• Formspree — receives your founding-list submission (email + tier + source tag) and forwards it to us.

There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no social trackers, and no third-party cookies set by Hawktalk itself. Aside from any cookies PayPal sets during checkout, this site does not use cookies to track you across the web.

6What we do with your email

• We use it to contact you about founding access, launch, and your founding status — including sending a friendcord invite by hand where relevant.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade it. Ever.
• We do not share it with anyone beyond the service (Formspree) that delivers it to us.
• We keep it only as long as it's useful for the founding program and to reach you. Ask us to delete it and we will.

7Your choices and rights

Because we hold so little, exercising your rights is simple. Email hawk@hawktalk.ai and you can ask us to:

• Tell you what we have on you (almost certainly just your email and tier tag).
• Delete it. We'll remove your email from the founding list.
• Correct it if it's wrong.

For anything payment-related, PayPal is the record-holder — you manage and delete stored payment details, and cancel subscriptions, inside your PayPal account. To stop future subscription renewals, cancel the subscription in PayPal at any time; see our Refund Policy for how that works.

8Children

Hawktalk is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted an email to our founding list, contact us and we'll delete it.

9Changes to this policy

If Hawktalk's structure changes — for example, if the pending LLC is formed, or if we ever add a new tool that collects more than an email — we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. We won't quietly start collecting things this policy says we don't. If a change is significant, we'll do our best to tell the founding list directly.
